A Happy 200th!

Can you believe it? My 200th blog post in almost a year…. Even more amazing is that I have that much stuff rambling around in my noggin to write about, with lots more to come too….

Why do we have 2 ways to spell the same word?

Wiki knows the answer…Wiki has pretty much ALL the answers to life’s little questions.

Grey vs Gray as Defined By Wiki:

Grey is the British, Canadian, Australian, Irish, New Zealand and South African spelling, although gray remained in common usage in the UK until the second half of the 20th century. Gray is the preferred American spelling, although grey is an accepted variant. Gray became the preferred spelling in American English around 1825.

What the heck happened?

Last time I checked, I was 34 and busy refereeing a teenager and a tween who were chasing each other around the house threatening dismemberment to each other. We can thank the almighty Shirahime-Syo for making our lives miserable in February. I don’t know about you, but I am MORE than ready for Spring to officially arrive this month.

A good friend of mine made a comment the other day about having to buy dirt…

which got me to thinking….

Why Do We Need To Buy Dirt?

When we live on a beautiful planet, that is comprised of dirt?

Why can’t we just go outside to our yards and dig up a
shovel full of dirt whenever we need it?

Apparently, not all dirt is created equal.

There is specific dirt for potting indoor plants,
Dirt for outdoor gardens,
Dirt for mixing into concrete,
Special dirt for making clay bricks,

Family Day

Seeing as today is a semi-National holiday (for Alberta, Ontario & Saskatchewan), I will be taking the day off to relax with hubby, and do absolutely nothing…or maybe we’ll go see Niagara Falls again for the 900-millionth time. I still marvel at the sight of the Falls no matter how many times I see them…..it just never gets old.

What is it about the shortest month of the year that makes people living in the Northern Hemisphere so moody?

Then I got to thinking…

What do the Southern Hemisphere folk call it? Especially when winter in the Southern Hemisphere is from June to September…does that make mid-August the August Blahs???? Is it worse for them because the month is actually longer???

Valentine For Your Hunny

Snow Days

For 2 days, the almighty Weather Gods were forecasting up to 25 cm (or more) of the white stuff along with blowing, white-out conditions….
