This is one of those meals that can be assembled ahead of time and then popped into the oven and almost forgotten. It’s a great dish to serve to guests as you don’t have to fuss over the stove, which gives you time to enjoy your company….unless you’d rather not, then you’ll have to make an excuse to stay in the kitchen….
4 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, butterflied
1 Cup Bread Crumbs
4 slices Ham
4 slices Gouda Cheese
Salt and Pepper to taste
Pound chicken breasts flat. Place a slice of ham and slice of cheese in the center of each piece. Roll up and secure with toothpicks.
Whisk egg into a wide bowl. Dip chicken in egg, turning to coat, then roll in bread crumbs.
Bake at 350°F for approx. 40 minutes and browned all over.
