Christmas Countdown ~ Day 8

Company Comes Calling

This is a simple treat for when you have unexpected company with children drop in.  Have some of these pre-made and stashed under your tree to hand out to the kids to brighten their day and warm their tummies!

Snowman Soup

Take a single-serving package of hot chocolate mix, a couple chocolate candy kisses, marshmallows and a candy cane, package in a mug or holiday-themed goody bag, then add a gift tag or bag topper for a cheery winter gift.

Ingredients

1 Individual packet of Hot Chocolate Mix
2-3 chocolate Hershey’s Chocolate Kisses
10-15 mini marshmallows
1 small Candy Cane
Treat bag or zipper storage baggie
Plastic wrap or small zipper storage baggie

Instructions

Place mini-marshmallows in small zipper storage bag, or wrap in plastic wrap.
Tuck hot chocolate packet into treat bag. Add marshmallows, chocolate kiss candies, and candy cane.

Seal bag or close with twist tie.
Holiday hint: glitzy chenille stems make pretty, decorative bag closures.  Curl stem ends around a finger or a wooden spoon to create a curly closure!

Add a printable gift tag or bag topper, or attach hand-written tag using the Snowman Soup poem below.

Snowman Soup Poem

Was told you’ve been real good this year.
Always glad to hear it!
With freezing weather drawing near,
You’ll need to warm the spirit.

So here’s a little Snowman Soup
Complete with stirring stick.
Add hot water, sip it slow.
It’s sure to do the trick!

  1. Great idea, love it. I want to put together baby food jars in a stack of 2, to look like and decorate like a snow man with hot choc and mallows in it. Thanks for the poem to add 🙂
